Our Story

Happy Feet first opened its doors in 2010 as a small preschool service in Rathcoole Village. What began as a tight-knit group of 18 children and three dedicated staff members in Kelly’s home quickly grew in response to local demand, especially following the introduction of the free ECCE scheme. From the beginning, Happy Feet has been rooted in community and care.

As the population of Rathcoole expanded, so did we. In 2014, we proudly opened our full day care service in Blackthorn Hill. Just two years later, our classrooms at the community centre opened their doors, followed by the launch of services at Rathcoole Football Club. Most recently, in 2025, we extended our school-aged services into Holy Family National School, further embedding ourselves into the heart of the village.

Happy Feet has always valued its personal approach to early education and school-aged care. Our commitment to the children and families of Rathcoole has been consistent throughout our journey. Many of our nearly 50 staff members are locals themselves and have been with us for almost a decade, testament to the strong bonds we’ve built with the community and local organisations.

Today, Happy Feet has grown to include 10 Early Learning Care (ELC) centres, 8 School-Aged Care (SAC) classrooms, and 7 new ECCE groups for the upcoming term. And yet, despite our growth, our goal remains the same: to serve the families of Rathcoole with care, connection, and a deep sense of community, for many more years to come.
